Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum: Innovation & Collaboration for the Future We Want

Lokalizacja: Świat,

W dniach 15-18 czerwca w Rio de Janeiro odbędzie się forum poprzedzające szczyt Rio+20, „Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum: Innovation & Collaboration for the Future We Want”.

The UN Conference on Sustainable Development – Rio +20 is scheduled for June 20-22 2012 and will be held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Twenty years after the original Earth Summit, this is anticipated to be a critical coming together of world leaders to address issues relating to world sustainability.

Rio+20 will gather Governments to build global consensus for a more sustainable course, in the environmental, social and economic spheres. The conference will focus on two themes: a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication; and the institutional framework for sustainable development.

The Global Compact and others are hosting the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum at Rio as a venue for business, industry and investors to meet with Governments, local authorities, civil society and UN entities. Over 2,000 participants are expected. Date and venue details will soon be announced and distributed to Global Compact participants. The Cities Programme will be encouraging city participation and contributing to urban related forums and events.

Forum events will be hosted and organized by various organizations, including the UN Global Compact; UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes; and other selected partners.
