Realizing systems transformation – Business insights into WBCSD’s Vision 2050

Lokalizacja: On-line,

Together with 40 leading companies, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) kicked off a process in 2019 to drive a collective, business-led effort to revisit its Vision 2050 – a landmark report issued a decade ago and focused on the opportunity for business to help unlock the transformations that are needed to allow over 9 billion people to live well, within the boundaries of the planet by mid-century.

The final Vision 2050 output aims to provide business with the positive, opportunity-based, action agenda it needs for the decade to come, articulating how we as business can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals and make them directly actionable over the next crucial decade and paint a positive picture of an achievable future that businesses can see themselves in and are excited and energized to work towards.

To achieve this, Vision 2050 is exploring six core questions:

1) How does transformation happen?
2) What are the key transformations we need to see and what actions must business take to drive them?
3) Can Capitalism be reinvented?
4) How will macrotrends, disruptions and emerging innovations affect progress on the Vision?
5) What will the long-term impact of COVID-19 be?
6) How do we improve and ensure resilience?

This virtual session provides an opportunity to learn more about the work, hear executive perspective from business leaders, discuss on the back of the latest insights and obtain a recent overview with regard to the progress that has been made over the last few months, in particular in the challenging context of COVID-19.

The session will include an overview of the project and its ambition, focus areas and activities, and offer the opportunity to exchange with project leaders on their expectations, learning and experiences.
