Seminar: Innovative approaches to finance. The Islamic experience in Europe

CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research, Narodowy Bank Polski, Polish Economic Association and the Centre for International Initiatives cordially invite to the seminar 'Innovative approaches to finance. The Islamic experience in Europe’ which will be held on 9 February 2016 (Tuesday) at 11 am at the Polish Economic Association head office, Nowy Świat 49, Warsaw.

Islamic finance is one of the most rapidly growing sectors of the recent years. According to EY, between 2009 and 2013, the annual growth of the value of Islamic financial assets amounted to 17.6 per cent and it reached 1.7 trillion dollars in 2013. The main purpose of this seminar is to broaden the understanding of Islamic finance in Poland and to present the Sharia complaint financial solutions used in Europe. More specifically, the organizers aim at promoting practical information about the Islamic financial instruments (their characteristics and problems of risk management), presenting models of implementation used in the UK and Luxemburg and creating a platform for debate between stakeholders in the field of innovative finance.

The event is co-organized by Narodowy Bank Polski within the project „Economic education”. The seminar is organized under the patronage of the Polish Ministry of Finance, the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Warsaw Voice.

The seminar will be held in English and Polish (simultaneous interpretation will be provided).
