CSR – Social Responsibility in International Dialogue – Berlin

The discourse about the role that businesses play in society is building up international momentum. The global economic and financial market crisis has not decelerated, but on the contrary accelerated this process. With its CSR action plan the German government adopted a range of measures to take effect at the national and international level and is now broadly implementing them.

The two-day conference is an opportunity to present the German CSR Action Plan to a big and international audience and to emphasize the high social and environmental standards prevailing in German business that operate internationally, by introducing the “CSR – made in Germany” concept. On the sidelines of the conference, companies, social partners and NGOs will set up booths to present their ideas and Corporate Social Responsibility concepts. Moreover, the purpose of this conference is to bundle, moderate and refocus current CSR themes discussed by the European Union, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the United Nations and other international organisations.

The National CSR Forum will help the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to plan and organise the conference. We expect participants from politics, business, trade unions, NGOs as well as research and science.
