Sustainability Reporting Awards Winners – Press Release

On December 3rd 2012 in the Polish Ministry of Economy, Responsible Business Forum, PwC and SGS Polska have organized a conference on social reporting and have announced winners of the Sustainability Reporting Awards: Kompania Piwowarska, Nestlé Polska, Budimex, Danone, Orange Polska, KGHM Polska Miedź, and PKN Orlen.

Sustainability Reporting Awards 2012 recognizes best reports on environmental, social and governance issues. Awards aim at promoting the idea of social reporting as an equivalent tool to financial reporting. 28 reports were submitted to this year’s edition of the Awards. They were evaluated by an independent jury with specialists of economy, environment, social issues and CSR as members. This year for the first time a jury composed of journalists have also honored a report. The winners in respective categories are:

• General Award: Kompania Piwowarska S.A.
• The Ministry of Economy’s Award: KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
• Best Debut Award: Nestlé Polska
• Internauts’ Award: Danone
• Journalists Award: PKN Orlen
• Special Awards: Budimex, Danone, Orange Polska

Before the awards were announced there was a discussion panel about the newest trend in reporting with a special guest Pietro Bertazzi, Senior Manager Policy and Government Affairs at Global Reporting Initiative. Representatives of companies were also discussing challenges in the process of reporting. Journalists tried to answer how to communicate about the reports and last panel regarded reporting in civil society organizations.

Awards are organized under the auspices of The Ministry of Economy.
